You just wrote amazing blog post! You read it, reread, made necessary corrections and you’ve decided that it’s done! So now what? Now it’s time to promote your blog!
If you are anything like I was when I first entered the industry, I was off to my next blog post. I didn’t know anything about optimizing, SEO, keywords, keyword research or anything else related to blog posts for that matter. I honestly thought that once I hit publish, my blog post would be out there for the world to see.
5 Easy Ways To Promote Your Blog Posts
Well, of course, I was wrong. Since then, I’ve learned quite a bit about what to do after writing a post. If you’re writing blog posts, here are five of my suggestions.
Facebook Profile and Facebook Business Page
After you’ve published your post, the first place to share it is your Facebook profile and your Facebook fan page. Your profile lists all of your friends, many of which are in the industry and would most likely have an interest in what you’re writing about.
Similarly, your fan page also called your business page has been liked by people in the industry. They’ve already expressed an interest in what your page offers when they saw value in the content. Quite naturally, they too, would be interested in what you write about.
Your Email List
Building your email list is something you should be doing daily. Remember, those on your list are the ones who opted in to your offer. Your offer was crafted based on the problems, questions or issues you knew your target audience had. When they opted in looking for these answers, they were added to your list.
Being on your list means that they will continue to get value from you. Your blog posts are such value. They hold ongoing answers to your audience’s questions.
Social Media Platforms
Another way to promote your blog posts is to share them on social media. There are numerous platforms where you can share your posts such as Facebook groups, Linked In, Pinterest, Twitter, Instagram, Google+ and more.
For those platforms where you have limited text opportunities, you can create an image announcing your blog post including a blurb and the URL.
Blog Syndication Groups
Here’s how it works: Each group has different requirements in terms of how many posts you must read, comment and share. Some require 5, others 2, some 3 and so on. Let’s say you join a group that requires you to read three of the other members posts in the group. You choose any three, read them, leave a meaningful comment then share to Twitter, Facebook, Google+ etc. Once you’ve done your three, then you can post your post.
Now you’re in the mix and your post can be read, commented on and shared by other members in the group. Another way to promote your blog post and get “eyeballs” on it.
By the way, your meaningful comments must be meaningful. They should express that you got value from the post, that maybe you can relate to the content, perhaps you had a similar experience or that it answered a question you had.
In this way, you let the blogger know you got some value but most importantly, the comment has a significant impact on your blog post’s rankings. As a rule, encourage your readers to leave a comment.
Visibility On Other Blogs In Your Niche
When you write a blog post, do a search and see who else may have written something on the same topic or other related topics. Visit their blogs, read their posts, comment and share. This gets you visible and keeps you visible in your blog niche.
Write a top quality blog post that addresses the needs of your target audience.
Post it on your Facebook profile and Facebook fan page.
Post across the social media platforms. You want as many eyes on your post as possible.
Join some Facebook blog syndication groups and comment and share. Remember, meaningful comments only!
Go visit some blogs in your niche and make yourself known.
