Your Inner Voice

Inner voice! We all have it. Sometimes friend and sometimes foe. That inner voice that speaks to us all the time. Most decisions we make are made partly because of our inner voice. And while there’s nothing wrong with entertaining your inner voice, you have to make sure that it’s not the prime suspect in you standing still rather than moving forward.

Why? Because it can be both friend and foe. So what’s your inner voice? As your friend, it encourages you, motivates and cheers you on. As your foe, it gives you reasons to procrastinate, delay, make excuses and put off taking action on the tasks that must be done.

Inner Voice as a Friend

inside voiceAs network marketers, we have to engage in prescribed activities daily to pick up the momentum it takes to run our businesses. In the beginning, we are excited and overzealous because this is something new and “they say we can help people and earn money too”. We go to our trainings and hear the success stories of those who came before us and they tell us that it’s possible for each and every one of us to attain what they’ve attained. That voice inside of us is working hard. It’s telling us to go for it, you have nothing to lose and everything to gain. It also reminds us of our families and what awesome things we want to do for them and with them. So we’re really motivated now. Nothing keeps us from the weekly and monthly company meetings. We are ready. And that’s what our voice is telling us. It’s this voice inside that keeps us motivated, that encourages us and cheers us on for the decision we made and the work we need to do to rank advance in our company as we make a difference in people’s lives.

Before I became a member of My Lead System Pro (MLSP), I was promoting my business in the traditional ways and was making minimal progress. But since joining MLSP, I have been involved in some very intense training on marketing strategies. Marketing your product or service requires that you do certain activities on a daily basis. This consistency is imperative to your business becoming massive. These activities must be done on a daily basis and you must be consistent to see results, which won’t come immediately, but by being on top of your game each and every day, will come. The idea is not to give up, not to slack off. And that’s where your inner voice makes it’s entrance again.

Getting the training, learning marketing and meeting people who are doing what you’re doing is nothing short of awesome. Your inner voice is your biggest cheerleader at this time telling you that you’re on the right track, keep going, don’t miss the webinars, produce content, make friends, network and so much more. And it’s exciting! What a friend that inner voice is being! Until one day, after all the excitement has subsided a little and you’re still working to get it done, you begin to feel a little tired or discouraged, that inner voice reappears.

Inner Voice As Foe

Just at your most vulnerable point, it appears! And we all have experienced those times – when we wonder why we’re not making as much progress as we think we should be making or see others being recognized and wonder when our time will come. Those times when we feel as if we’re running out of steam. That villianous inner voice tells you don’t worry, you have time, that it’s okay to take a break for today, or why not catch up on your favorite television show or don’t worry about content today, you can do it tomorrow. The inner voice is now your foe. It’s telling you not to do the things you must do to get closer to your goals. It’s telling you that you can procrastinate, put something off, delay and its helping you make excuses.

Our Inner Voice Tells Us Different Things

So, we all have our inner voice but the voice tells us different things at different times. We’re all trying to reach our goals for a better future, to enrich the lives of our families and others, to experience things we’ve never experienced before. It’s going to take work and our inner voice will be ever-present. Just remember that whatever your inner voice is telling you must be weighed by what you really and truly want and your committment to achieving it.

So, What’s your inner voice telling you? And are you listening?

That’s right Terrance…as long as we keep nurturing our mindset, we’ll be able to tell when the foe appears on the scene…and shut him down! 🙂

This is really good Theresa… When that inner voice shows up a s foe… It can really slow down your progress if you let it consume you. It’s so important to stay constantly tuned into the “friend” of your mind. Thank you for sharing! =)

I think your inner voice must be a voice that serves you. So many people live in fear of what “might” happen. The more positive material we digest, the more likely our inner voice will serve us.

So true Keith. We have to feed it well and then let it keep us motivated and on track! 🙂
