All those people who are waiting by their Facebook timeline for your link to appear. Right? All those people checking their emails regularly looking for your link. Right? All those people waiting for your private message with, yes, your link. Right? Sorry to burst your bubble but…wrong!
There Are Ways to Build Trust Online
You may have heard that online marketing is an alternative to the traditional meet in the street, home parties and chasing family and friends methods of marketing. While there is nothing wrong with the “old school” methods, online marketing has proven to be a more viable way of marketing for many marketers. With the convenience of working from home and reaching millions of people, it can conceivably be the best thing since sliced bread. However, online marketing involves much more than your link hitting people’s spaces. You have to find ways to build trust online.
Know, Like and Trust
People are looking for many things. Products to help them lose weight, live healthier lifestyles, the ability to travel inexpensively, access to legal services, assistance with their credit reports and more. Inasmuch as they may need certain products and services, people generally won’t buy from just anyone. They prefer to buy from someone they know, like and trust. You might be wondering, and rightly so, how can I get people who I don’t know, to know, like and trust me? Especially people online.
One thing to remember is that once you take the online route, you have to put yourself out there. You have to become a social media presence. By doing so, people will get to know you, or at least feel like they know you, like you and trust you. And that’s your goal.
5 Ways To Build Trust Online
Being a social media presence does not happen overnight. You have to work at it consistently. Eventually, it will happen and your presence will not only be felt but will be sought after as well. Here are some ways to build trust online:
Be recognizable – Use a clear, high definition picture for all your social media platforms. Don’t make the mistake of trying to be on every platform but aim for at least three. The same picture should used and when you post, your picture will accompany the post. Make sure you have a smile so people will see you as a positive, professional person. That’s giving you exposure.
Do videos and live broadcasts – Another way to get your face out there is through videos and LIVE streams. Videos are a great way to do tutorials, deliver mindset and share marketing tips and strategies. Videos should be a part of your blog posts that include some of your content or are the actual content. LIVE broadcasts are a great way to be social while still providing value. With LIVE streaming, you can interact with your audience, answers questions, acknowledge their presence and thank them for tuning in. When people can interact with you live, they get to know you and feel comfortable with you thus trust you.
Write content – Providing value through blog posts, articles, status updates, ebooks etc. is another way to build trust. When people read your content and find that it is an answer to their questions, a solution to their problems or a pain-killer for what’s been ailing them, they are confident in your knowledge and trust what you say. In fact, they will seek you out and become your loyal followers.
Make Friends and Build Relationships – Making friends and building relationships is another way to build trust online. You can find friends in your niche almost anywhere on the internet. Forums, social media groups and communities, to name a few. Review profiles and find those who resonate with you. Engage on their pages, send a private message and begin conversations. From that point and through a series of subsequent conversations, you will have new friends who will know, like and trust you.
Email Marketing – As you meet new people and make new friends, always invite them to sign up for your newsletter. Once a subscriber, you can then send the value to them through regular emails. This value can be tips and strategies, inspirational/motivational videos, your latest blog posts and even the blog posts of others who you feel have relevant information for your list, updates on webinars and other training, tools, resources, products, courses and more.
