“Are You A Hoper Or A Hustler?” That’s what Ray Higdon asked in his training, 10 Prospecting Tricks. So now I’m asking, “Are you a hoper or a hustler?” If you were given 10 prospecting tactics, what would you do with them? It depends on what you are, hoper or hustler.
A hoper is someone who hopes his business will take off. He hopes that the right people will come into his circle and buy his products. She hopes that she can sign people up into her opportunity. Hopers do one thing and one thing only…they hope. They hope for an easy way to get results. The trouble with that is without action, hope will always be just a hope.
5 Prospecting Tactics For The Hustler
On the other hand, if you want to see results and are not looking for the easy way out, consider yourself a hustler. A hustler is defined as an aggressively enterprising person; a go-getter. Does that sound like you?
Well, Ray’s training about 10 prospecting tactics is definitely for you if you consider yourself a hustler or if you just want to get results and will do whatever it takes to get them. In either case, it’s all about taking action! In this post, I will share 5 of the tactics Ray shared.
First…Use the System
If you’re a member of the MLSP marketing system, you have access to system campaigns. These are free trainings that you can give away to people who are struggling. If you’re not a member, contact me and I’ll show you how you can become one.
When they opt in, they will be added to your email subscriber list. You can then contact them to see how you can help them. If you can’t help them for whatever reason, maybe they’re not serious enough or aren’t sure if they’re going to stay in the industry, they can still remain on your list and receive value. If they do want solutions, you can provide solutions through your daily emails. This is one of the easiest ways to generate leads.
You can also watch the trainings yourself, take notes and advertise. In addition, you can create videos or blog posts that will provide value to your target audience.
Ray suggests that you find 2-3 good networking events to attend per week. While there, get as many business cards as you can. Be certain not to introduce what you do but follow up with each on the next day.
Being that most people don’t do the follow up part, this is a sure way for you to stand out from the crowd. Remind the person who you are and ask if they’re open to a side project that wouldn’t interfere with what they’re currently doing. If they’re not, it’s fine. If they are, you have a prospect.
Place 5 contest boxes in various high traffic areas. Give away something that a good prospect might be interested in. Offer an ebook as a consolation prize to those who did not win.
Fourth…Larry’s Post-it Notes
This idea originally came about from Larry Beacham. Place 100 post-its per day, again, in high-traffic areas. They should have a message relative to your business and entice interested parties to contact you for more information. You can check out Larry’s strategy HERE.
Ray reminds us that realtors are “hurting”. They work for commission and are advertising to get business. Since they are in need of making money, they may be open to a side project.
As you’re driving, collect 5-20 numbers from realtors signs. He even suggests taking different routes so you can be assured of getting new realtors to continually add to your collection. Then make the call: Would you be open to a way of making an income that has nothing to do with real estate?
