3 ELEMENTS OF A PERSONAL BRAND STATEMENT

personal brand statement

Personal brand statement. If you’re a network marketer, then you must have heard by now that you should be branding YOU rather than your network marketing company.

A personal brand is how you present yourself to the marketplace. It helps people recognize you making you stand out from the crowd. A personal brand tells who you are and what you do. It also gives people an idea of what you believe in and stand for.

These are all powerful pieces of information and can have a dramatic effect on your connection with your target market.

So What Is A Personal Brand Statement Anyway?

personal branding strategyOne way to get your message across is by a personal brand statement. When you think about it, a personal brand statement really answers two key questions for the person reading it or hearing it – who are you and why should I care about you.

Your personal brand statement, also called your value statement, answers those questions appropriately. If you haven’t crafted your personal brand statement yet, here are 3 elements you want to include as you think about how you want to be viewed in the marketplace.

Remember, as you position yourself in the marketplace, it is important that you have a personal branding strategy and the following elements will guide you as you create yours.

Three Key Elements Of An Effective Personal Brand Statement

What Do I Do – Think about what you specialize in. Your area of expertise is important for people to know as they make decisions on you as one to possibly follow. You have to resonate with your audience by letting them know that you are the one who will fulfill their needs.

Be clear and specific. Are you a coach? A consultant? Do you mentor people?  Make sure to include this in your personal brand statement.

Who Is My Target Audience –  Think  about who you will service. Your personal brand should tell who it is you are committed to helping. Whatever you say or do, your content, whether video, blog post, status updates or anything else you may put out into the marketplace should be in the language of those who are listening for a solution.

Why Do I Do It – Think about your end result. What is your goal in doing this work? You may want to help network marketers or small business owners or entrepreneurs generate qualified leads to build their businesses, or you may want to help network marketers develop their brand to position themselves as leaders in the marketplace.

Remember, you can’t be everything for everybody BUT you can be one thing to some people.

So as you begin developing your personal brand, keep these key points in mind when crafting your personal brand statement. Remember, it’s all about what you have to offer and to whom and most, importantly, being recognized for this in the marketplace.

Your personal brand is what people say about you when you are not in the room. Click To Tweet

Thanks for this Theresa … sometimes our brand and message can be a little vague if we’ve not sat down and really nutted this out. Great info 🙂
